Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress who hails from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic home. Her father, Elroy Fernandez, is from Sri Lanka. She was the host of the program Lanka Business Report which focused on business in Sri Lanka. Padukone (the child of badminton player Prakash Padukone) was born and raised in Bangalore. As a teenager, she competed at national-level badminton tournaments. She later resigned from the sport to become a fashion designer. Padukone's native language is Konkani. The model is Mangalorean in her origins. Her family ancestors are from the village of Padukone in Kundapura Taluk, in the Udupi district of Karnataka state, which is located in India. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend before retiring in the 1980s. Her mother, a travel agency, also hails from this village.
